Hunting arrow FAQs
What spine do I need? Spine is the shaft's stiffness, and it must match your draw weight, arrow length and point weight a mismatched spine won't tune no matter how good the bow is. Higher poundage and heavier points need a stiffer (lower-number) spine. Tell us your bow's specs and we'll match it, or use the Custom Arrow Builder and we'll check your build before it ships.
How heavy should a hunting arrow be? For Australian game, most bowhunters run a total arrow weight of roughly 8–10+ grains per pound of draw weight heavier arrows carry momentum and penetrate better on tough animals like feral pigs, at the cost of some speed. We can build to the weight your hunting calls for.
Fletched arrows or bare shafts? Pre-fletched packs (like the Nexxus Infinity 6pk) get you shooting fastest. Bare shafts (Nexxus Impact and Infinity 12pks, Terra Firma Fortis) let us cut to your exact length and fletch to your preference the better path for a tuned hunting setup.
Do broadheads change my arrow choice? Yes, fixed-blade broadheads expose tuning problems that field points hide. If you're hunting, build the arrow around the broadhead weight (see our broadheads and shaft/broadhead bundle deals) and practise with the same weight up front.
